Keep trying. It is a good start. write the whole story out first, and then go through them and take out what is not important, and add other elements. Otherwise a good start. Have you read The Shinning or Amityville Horror. Both have similar elements with the supernatural thrown in. Good stories! You need to read plenty of Horror stories to see how the writers develop their story lines. Stephen king is great with words! So are few others.

Don't know which but your doing good! Having a lot of leadership points is maybe the most important quality in a person they look for in students now, and since you've taken a good amount of AP class's it helps.

Do you like virtue names?

Honestly, no. I don't like the concept of them. It seems a little overkill to name your child a virtue you could just raise them to have normally, am I wrong? I don't think some sound bad, but I wouldn't use them. If I didn't have reasons against the concept of them, I think Honor, Joy, Justice, Mercy, Felicity, & Verity sound OK. Another thing though, is a lot of these have become either common, or some even have a trashiness to them. Grace/Faith/Hope are very overused right now, so that makes them less appealing. Destiny, Chastity, Harmony, & Trinity are the ones that are low-rent now.

9 year olds still throwing tantrums--how do you deal with it?

when you said she has tantrums about 3 times a day I say she is spoiled and being popular at school makes her even worse. When she try's to beat you and your sister you must take control by gabbing her and forcing her down on something soft like a bed and say as calm as you can that you will not tolerate this and be as sweet as possible to her. If she try's kicking you and all after you do this then just walk away with your other sister and stay away from the one with the tantrum. This way she will calm down eventually. And if she gets mad about the food taking to long then finish that up and give it to her polity after she calms down. Eventually she will learn so don't be to worried.

Basically your GPA doesn't count for anything because teachers give you a grade if you finish your work. Your SAT score indicates that you are just finishing the work, but not really understanding or thinking about your work. Let's be real. Getting into colleges like Berkeley is EXTREMELY competitive. You need to re-take the SAT or ACT and study for it. Work on your essays for entrance. When you get out of college you will be competing for jobs, so you had better get used to it.

Can I get kicked out of these bars because of an ex?

I don't know if this is a common problem for most special education teachers, but I am having this issue. I work for multiple campuses at a small charter district and we are told confidentiality is very important. I am only at certain campuses on certain days, and work with multiple teachers at each campus (K-12th). Every now and then a parent or student will ask who I am or what I do. I was wondering if anyone knew what a good answer is that avoids the stigma of a "special education teacher". I am in a full inclusion district and work with learning disabled students for the most part, so I generally work with everyone in the class. I do not want a parent or student wanting me to not work with them or their child because they are not "special ed". I realize this may seem like a small thing, but I have been wondering how I can answer the questions without sounded like a teachers aid or breaking the confidentiality of the students I do work with. Ok, so it's random. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant but I'm having infertility issues that require me to visit the doctor about 5 or 6 times a month, hopefully just for one more month but longer if I don't get pregnant this time around of course. Could I have ovarian cancer and not know?

I am almost 19 years old and I have had bad bladder infections and pain in my pelvis for about 4 months now and I kept telling to doctor and they didn't see anything abnormal in my urine so they kept telling me that it was just a bladder infection and "rib cage pain". So, about a month and a half ago I had pain so immensely bad in my right side of my pelvis and when I would have a bowel movement it was ten times worse. I went to the Emergency Room and they did a vaginal ultrasound and found "multiple ovarian cysts" on my right ovary and they were hemorragic cysts. So, I've just been dealing with the pain. But, recently I've been having pain on my right leg from my pelvis down to my knee and I'm feeling full quickly after a snack along with bloating all throughout my days. Could I have symptoms of ovarian cancer and not know it? Would the doctors be able to tell?

My boyfriend won't talk to me. Any advice?

My boyfriend doesn't seem to find any interest in anything that I say. I try to start a conversation but the only response that I get back is 'nothing'. If I ask him a question or for help, he will only say 'I don't know', 'yes', or 'no'. Whenever we actually start talking, he decides that he wants to go hang out with his friends or wants to go to sleep. We have been together for roughly 1 1/2 years and he enlisted in the military about a year ago. We talk fine in person and have no problems then, but he doesn't respond to me or say much at all to me on Skype or the phone. We text all the time, but if we are actually going to have a conversation, I have to start it. I am about to go to college on the coast opposite to him where my conversations to anyone will be limited to one 10 minute call per week and I have to sign out time to use my computer. What should I do? There are a lot of times where I do not see any progress in our relationship and it seems to go downhill sometimes. Whenever we have a night without conversation, he will send me a text saying that he loves me, no matter what and that he cannot bear the thought of losing me. Is there anything that we can do to make things right or at least better? Maybe some ways to get a conversation to last more than 2 minutes? We have argued about this multiple times and he 'never has anything to talk about'. It's really difficult for me to find things to talk about everyday and it frustrates me when he shows no effort at all. Please help me out. :/ I really don't want to lose him... TVersity - too many folders!?

I have a new desktop and I just discovered I can stream from my desktop to my PS3. Well, the program I am using to stream is 'TVersity' and when I go into my PS3 and go under 'Video' to play a movie I have multiple folders, some with files I don't even have that can't even play under names like '212$@!2sc". Idk what the cramps are from...is it more likey that they are due to having rough/deep sex (he was big, and we had sex multiple times that morning, which made my vagina very sore), or is it ovulation cramps, or maybe even early implantation cramps, or could I possibly have a infection? Overly interactive neighbor or am I overreacting?

I apologize for the length of this yet wanted to provide enough detail so that your opinions could be formed to help me determine if I'm just overreacting or if the neighbor is crossing the line. Here goes: I have recently and only temporarily moved in to my boyfriends house and everything is fabulous, except for one of his neighbors. I have expressed feelings of discomfort to my boyfriend and while he agrees that his neighbor is crazy, he is too nice of a guy to really say anything. For the past 4 years my boyfriend has lived next door to a family of 4. There is a husband, wife, daughter and son. At some point the wife confided in my boyfriend that her husband is crazy and she and the kids are planning on moving out once the youngest, her son, graduates high school. Over time she continues to give him little nuggets of info about her crazy husband and periodically brings baked goods and bakes treats for our dogs, though her family has no pets. In the past six months she has brought over more than 50 name brand shirts from a designer outlet store for my boyfriend. Following her sons recent graduation her husband was out of town for a few nights. In his absence, she allowed her son to throw a big pool party, complete with underage drinking. At one point, close to midnight, she came over asking to borrow some ice and when my boyfriend explained he doesn't have an ice maker, we use trays, she asked to borrow a couple. When there was a possible threat of cops coming to her house to break up the party,she rounded up all the trash and put the cans next to our trashcans in front of his garage. The next day she sent my boyfriend a text and then stopped by to tell my boyfriend what was going on, and to give him another bag of polo shirts. He ensured her he wouldn't mention it to her husband and thanked her for the shirts. Although I am clearly home all day, she does not come over unless he is home. We have only had a few interchanges and she gave me a couple dresses, which I followed up with a thank you card and personal thanks. She seems to dart from her car to the front door when I'm around and it makes me wonder why she seems to avoid me and then comes over multiple times a day when my boyfriend is around. When we decided to leave some clothes we were going to donate on top of a shopping bag full of clothes she left at the front door, to try and send her the hint, she moved the bag so that it was directly in front of the door on the welcome mat and then took the bag from the new phone book that was on the step and hung it from the doorknob with a box of turnovers. I'm trying my best to ignore her and to maintain the neighborly relationship between my boyfriend and his neighbors but I can't help but feel uncomfortable by her constant gifts, unsolicited advice, unsolicited and detailed personal information, and frequent interruptions. We've tried to ignore her when she rings the bell but she just calls, texts or comes back later at all hours of night/day. When my boyfriend and I talk about it I feel terrible because he can't control her actions and yet I feel like something needs to be said or things will continue to be weird. He is under the impression that she's just crazy but harmless. I find it odd that a middle aged woman thinks discussing her marital issues with her twenty-something neighbor is acceptable. I can't help but shake the feeling that there are some deeper issues going on with this family and I'd rather they not involve myself or my boyfriend. I want to be respectful and ensure that the relationship with the neighbors remains friendly, and at the same time feel like this lady is overstepping her neighborly boundaries and taking advantage of my boyfriends kindness. Her most recent gifts include nutritional weight loss drinks, bars and supplements because she remembered his mother saying he was trying to slim down. She was also kind enough to drop off the dvd explaining the pyramid process and how he can supplement his income by selling the products. Heartbroken re decision made?

My 18 year old son has had mental health issues for many years namely due to horriffic sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of his bioligical father & grandfather. Since he chose to file charges with the police, his biological father committed suicide, his grandfather was called to trial but the prosecutors felt there was not enough 'evidence' to take it to trial & in the publics best interest to withdraw all charges from the grandfather so he got off scott free. I have had my son in multiple private hospitals seeking the best of psychiatric care for the last two years since he left school. He is addicted to drugs, pain medication, marijuana, you name it. He has attempted suicide a multitude of times & last night was the final straw in that he terrified my 3 year old son (his step brother), myself & his step father by indicating we were at harm & to lock ourselves in our bedroom throughout the night, that he cut himself up with a knife across his arms & legs & my fiance had to wrestle a large carving knife from him. We had police come to the house, he had a seizure in front of them & the ambulance arrived to take him to hospital but he walked out of there today as our mental health system in Western Australia is pathetic, they release mental health patients at the drop of a hat. We have told him many times previously that we cannot keep putting up with him living under our roof with his addictions that he doesn't seem to want to address & he is scaring his little 3 year old brother so he has to move out. I am heartbroken telling my own child he is not welcome in our home. He told me today we don't care about him, we don't love him, we only love his little brother, he is our only son & he is going to kill himself & we will have his blood on our hands. I have for years tried so many hospitals, psychs, taken so much time off work jeopardising my job trying to help him, I recently secured him a job & we thought things were going well but he took days off on drug induced illness. I can't help but feel guilty about our decision to have him look for crisis accommodation. I have tried to intervene & help him do this today but he told me to stay out of his life. I feel like I'm a terrible mother & have let my own flesh & blood down.

My depression is crippling?

My mother died last Nov. Since then I've been getting very ill, depressed, and no one understands. Don't get along with family, there's a lot of dysfunction there, can't depend on them. Chest pain in young healthy male?

My husband has been experiencing chest pains for the last month. We have taken him to the ER but no one is really willing to do anything because we don't have insurance. When we went to the ER they gave him ECG and that showed that he was definitely having heart palpitations at one point his heart rate was at 169 bpm. They did a blood test, but didn't tell us what they were testing for and when the results came back they just said that "he looks very healthy on paper" and sent us home. It has been 2 weeks since then and he is still experiencing this multiple times a day. He said that he feels like he pulled a muscle near his sternum but the muscle is sore all the way around his back just on his left side. Whenever he moves the "wrong" way he will get a sharp pain in his chest and then his heart goes crazy, and other times he won't have to move he will just be sitting there watching tv and without any pain his heart will start racing. Does anyone have any idea what could possibly be going on? The ER referred him to a cardiologist to be further examined, but without insurance its $400 just to walk in the door and then they bill you for the rest later, and that is way more than we can afford so we made an appt at the low income health center where we live but they can't see him for another month still. Please help!

Hi there, you have probably caught a cold because you are stressed. Try wearing vests and other layers under your uniform. Air conditioning is horrible isn't it, but most workplaces will have it so do try to overcome it. I can understand as I feel the cold really easily and it is really hard to concentrate on anything else. It is really warm today but I still have a vest on under my short sleeved blouse! A nice scarf around the neck can help if you are allowed to wear one and tights are a god send for me. After you have put on your layers, try not to focus on the cold and concentrate on your work and see if you feel better. First Tattoo Trouble..?

What's the best way to patch a hole in the seam of a raft?

I've patched multiple holes in inflatable things using just duct tape or on the occasion, an actual kit designed for patching holes and having it work and hold up just fine, but whenever the hole happens to be on the seam of the rubber, my methods just don't seem to work out so well. If it's on the seam, is it better to just use glue to cover the hole, or is there a special technique for taping up/patching up a hole in in the seam?

You can get the number of the mental health clinic in your area, and try to arrange an appointment for yourself-- I don't know how much luck you'll have with this, but it's worth a try-- and if you have health coverage you should be okay (I think all school age kids have some type of coverage). You could also call the suicide hotline, speak to whomever answers, tell them your problem, and ask if they can help you in any way to get hooked up with a therapist. Again, there are a great many young people your age that have similar (or worse) mental health issues-- it is nothing to be ashamed of. If you do this, get the professional help you need, your life will be immensely better. I hope you will do so, and I wish you the best of luck.

Years ago I lost a recipe I had cut out of a women's magazine (Family Circle or Women's Day) It was oven baked "Curried Chicken Wings"...and they were sweet. All I can remember is that I simmered a delicious sauce (stove top) first then poured it allllll over the wings. They baked for awhile and the sauce baked down to a gooey sweet curried glaze on the wings. It sounds bad...but it was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! The glaze was cornstarch based, with honey, soy sauce and curry. I've tried to recreate these multiple times but have never hit it "right on". I'm obviously missing a few key ingredients. I need help with the Silverlight plugin for Netflix please!?

I have tried installing and reinstalling the plugin multiple times until I read on a forum that an older version of the plugin worked better since the new version of Silverlight was not "compatible" with Windows Vista. I downloaded the old version and when I tried it in Netflix, it kept showing a playback error. I contacted Netflix and they told me that the playback error was due to the old version of the Silverlight plugin and then instructed me into downloading the new version. I downloaded it but now I am back to square one with it reporting that it is again crashing. Is there anything I can do to go back to watching Netflix?

2003 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L 4WD - Cylinder #1 Misfire - Check Engine Light?

On my Tahoe there is a continued engine light I have read the code and it informs me that there is a misfire on Cylinder #1. Check engine light is usually continuous but often flashes. Has anyone ever had a similar problem? I have replaced the spark plug, the coil and the plug wire. Is the next step replacing the fuel injector? I have used fuel injector cleaners multiple times.

He said he didn't have to delete any programs or personal files, however, now when we try to get on things like MP3 rocket or Word Perfect, it either says that it can't be found, or a window pops up asking what you want to open it with. I need some help with ongoing school drama?!?

This question revolves many incidences that happened in the this last school semester, so I'll try to keep everything as clear and concise as possible. This whole thing began when me and my friend Kris decided to go to a dance and hang out together (NO HOMO, we're just friends lol) and some people there wanted to meet up with us and they were going to drink some alcohol that I brought before the dance (I brought it because no one else offered). Long story short, they don't ever show up until later, we go messing around until the cutoff of getting into the dance at 8pm, and we get caught with the alcohol. Upon interrogation, we were seperated when asking questions so we wouldn't agree on the same thing, and my friend Kris lied and they took his story. However, when they interrogated me, I was extremely nervous and they sensed this and I told the truth; even if I did lie, I seriously in my mind doubt that they would have bought it. Now my friend Kris hates me. A few weeks later, we start talking again, and theres this girl named Felicity who likes me and told Kris and I that, but I told her that I just wanted to be friends with her for now, which she understood and accepted. Kris on the other hand kept asking me CONSTANTLY and persistenly to go out with her, even after I kept saying no no no and finally I told him to just step off, and he snapped and said some pretty mean things. I then had the dumb idea that if I pretended to go out with this girl for a while, Kris would be happy with me; was he? No. He thought I was faking it because he told me that he asked her to "hold my hand" (which she did, but when I asked if she would) and thought we were faking. Then we get into a text war and say some PRETTY dang messed up stuff to each other; extremely hurtful stuff. I called him after our fighting and asked that if we can't be friends anymore, at the very least I didn't want us to hate each other...which he agreed to (without actually saying). Then soon after this, Ryan, who is Kris's best friend, finds out what happened with me and Felicity and decides to text me his own two cents at which point I snapped and said you know what, thats it, we're taking this to the field after school (all in a COMPLETE impulse, mind you). Anyway the end of the day arrives, I go to where I was supposed to meet Ryan for the fight and before we fought we talked it out and he said we can fight or not, its your call (his EXACT words) and I told him that I didn't want to fight him and we cleared a few things up and kind of just made a truce. All might seem fine, but a few days ago my best friend Trevor was saying that I have a "b*tch" attitude because I called Ryan out and didn't fight him, even though we plainly talked it out and got over it, and now Trevor barely even talks to me anymore. And also, right after the alcohol incident, one of my friends who I had to say was involved with the incident, which he was, sent me a message on Xbox live simply saying snitchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh or something like that. I need some help and advice on what to do, I'm losing my friends and I didn't mean for any of this to happen, I guess we just learn painful lessons sometimes but this is driving me crazy and I can't stop thinking about it.
