One object in powerpoint to break apart and regroup with separate animations?

i am creating a slide in powerpoint and i have one object (visio drawing) that i have placed on the slide. i would like to be able to take this image and apply multiple animations to it by having certain parts of the drawing appear at different times of the animation, but then come back together as a whole drawing. How can i make this happen?
